art based work

I am fascinated about how people, the media, visual artists and scholars engage with and interpret issues of citizenship, race, racism, and cultural identity in Canada. My work is a personal reaction to this.

My work incorporates textiles, older processes, street art and multimedia elements. Fusing the digital with the tactile has always fascinated me.

Migrant Narratives: Scan & print

This is a video of my process for scanning and printing large format negatives. Within the video I compare a Howtek Scan Master 4500 drum scanner to an Epson V750 scanner. I use SilverFast scanning software and output the files to an Epson 9900 printer and an HP 110 Latex printer producing two prints, a 44'x54" and a 88"x108" respectively.

Migrant Narratives: hanging prints

This is a video of my process for scanning and printing large format negatives. This video is a follow up to the Howtek Scan Master 4500 drum scanner and Epson V750 scanner video. Within the video I critique the prints from the Epson 9900 printer and the HP 110 Latex printer.

Emerging From Darkness: Promo

This is a promo video for my photographic series Emerging From Darkness. The photographs were shot on an 8x10 camera and enlarged for display. This is an iteration of an idea for my migration narrative series for my MA studies.

Street Portraits: Process

This is the printing of the Street Portrait Promo material I use to tag and post downtown in the neighbourhoods I photograph in.

Street Portraits: Tagging

Fascinated by Street Art I decided to try it myself. I like the idea of using images of people from my Street Portrait series perhaps, reposting them back into the neighbourhoods I am photographing in. Regardless here is my first attempt of putting a piece up and with some homemade wheat paste.
